Dicky Surya was first known as Bali representative on a male model contest L Men of the Year 2005. Unfortunately, he ended only at Top 10 on that contest. But the fortune came to him as he started to shoot for many commercial advertisements e.g. Dji Sam Soe, Vita Charm, Ciptadent, Grand-Max, etc. He also started to appear on fashion spreads for Men's Health Indonesia and Cosmopolitan Indonesia.
